Apple Daily Newspaper was founded on 20 June 1995. The newspaper was modeled after USA Today, with printing in full color and concise writing, and focused on reporting crime, celebrity news, eroticism, gambling, and drug use. Apple Daily introduced tabloid journalism to the Hong Kong market, with a focus on large colorful graphics and more flamboyant stories.
