Tencent’s WeTV, chooses SelectMedia as its global video platform
WeTV, the video streaming platform owned by China’s Tencent, has chosen SelectMedia as its primary video ad platform as it looks to grow its programmatic advertising business worldwide.WeTV, is the international version of Tencent Video (the leading video app in China); aimed to provide a variety of genres of English subbed Chinese series, variety shows, special events, and anime.
The partnership between WeTV and SelectMedia will allow Tencent to accelerate and scale their programmatic video strategy in Asia as well as other parts of the world. Selectmedia will help to engage agencies and advertisers looking to target a hard-to-reach audience in a premium brand-safe environment at scale.
WeTV is now one of the largest digital video streaming destinations in several Asian markets, including Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and India.
